FileLock is a file protection tool for Windows computers. It allows you to create a sort of safe where you can put your files and secure them by means of a password.
The first time I launched FileLock it asked me for a password that restricts access to the application. I allocated it 100 megabytes, which seems to be the default space. After that I started adding files. By default, FileLock doesn't delete the files that you add to the "safe", but there is an option to enable this behavior. So keep in mind that unless you enable this feature or manually delete the files, there will be copies of the files that you are trying to protect. If you want to re-allocate space to FileLock you will have to back up your files, or they will be deleted.
Once you have files in your safe, you can execute them by double-clicking. In my testing, I added some video and audio files, and they were playable from within FileLock just fine.
Pros
- It works well
- Easy to use
Cons
- You have to manually allocate space to the safe and then delete all files if you want more space
